About Jeremy
Jeremy Mixer grew up in Saco, graduating from Thornton Academy in 1996. After becoming friends with a local DJ at a classic rock station, Mixer decided he wanted to be a radio jock, and enrolled at the New England School of Communications at Husson College, now Husson University, in 1999. He spent some time during the summer of 2000 doing work for WREM in Monticello, Maine, on the Canadian border. Upon returning to school for his second year, he landed a job as a DJ on WBZN Z-107. He intended to stay there for a while, but as a classic rock junkie, he was told of a great opportunity at Stephen King's classic rock station, WKIT, and quickly got the radio job he had dreamed of.
Mixer never had any desire to work in talk radio until the tragic events of 9/11, when he found himself glued to talk radio. He left WKIT after three and a half years to return to his roots in southern Maine. After a year, he was hired, on his birthday, to work at Portland Radio Group, now Portland Media Group, as a producer. After eight months, he left radio for eleven years, until the radio bug bit him again. He returned to the same company in September of 2017 to do news on WGAN, as well as hosting radio shows on sister stations Coast 93.1, WPOR, Rewind 100.9 (now known as Whoopie 100.9), and WCLZ.
His work at WGAN led to him producing the long-running John McDonald Show, as well as Inside Maine. He also covers producing the WGAN Morning News when regular producer Danny Martignetti is off. In early 2026, the founder of A Healthy Conversation, Steve Woods, retired. At that time, the show began being produced in the WGAN studios with Mixer behind the board, a job he feels honored and privileged to have.
Jeremy is a proud father to his teenage daughter. A very avid Boston Bruins fan, he also likes to think he can sing Led Zeppelin, and is known to frequent both open mics and karaoke events in the greater Portland area.
